Don’t risk your vote going to Dutton

Why You Need To Put The Liberals Last.

Put The Liberals Last

If you don’t want Peter Dutton to be the next Prime Minister, you need to put the Liberal candidate last.

How to vote

  1. Put a ‘1’ beside who you want the most.
  2. Continue to number every box in your order of preference (you must do this for your vote to be valid).
  3. Put the last number beside the Liberal candidate.

How are votes counted?

  • In each electorate, if a candidate gets more than half of the ‘first preferences’, they are elected.
  • If no one does, the candidate with the fewest number ‘1’ votes is excluded and those votes are transferred to the candidates numbered ‘2’ on those ballots.
  • If there is still no candidate with more than half of the total votes, this process is repeated until one candidate wins.

Putting the Liberal candidate LAST is so important – if you put them any higher, you risk your vote being transferred to them!
